The 25th edition of Steelmaster has started in Acciaierie d'Italia at Taranto

24/10/2022

Taranto, 24th October 2022 – From 24th to 28th October Acciaierie d'Italia hosts at its Taranto plant the 25th edition of Steelmaster, the advanced training course dedicated to the world of steel, from industrial to technological aspects, organized by RINA.

The aim of the course is to provide participants with the tools and methodologies to outline a complete picture of the steel industry at a national, European and global level.

A second week of teaching is scheduled in Brescia, another city with a significant steel presence, from 21st to 25th November.

Official documents of the European Commission refer to Steelmaster as the “only one” example in Europe of training in the steel industry.

The initiative takes on particular importance in a context where the steel ecosystem is facing the challenge of a digital and environmental transition in which the circular economy – an economic model to which steel has always been totally consistent – represents an important evolution of the linear economy model. The 2022 edition provides for an in-depth study of topics such as production cycles and technologies, the structure of the steel industry, the steel market, research and innovation, product application, safety at work, environmental aspects, budget analysis, logistics and others organizational and management aspects.

Acciaierie d'Italia hosts the course, expressing the majority of the participants, involving newly hired engineers, department heads and technicians from Taranto, Genoa and Novi Ligure plants. As evidence of the attention paid by ADI to professional skills, the activities on Tuesday 25th will be opened by a contribution from Lucia Morselli, CEO of Acciaierie d’Italia.

“Training is now one of the core activities of the company, along with production. We continue to invest in the growth of human resources to be better prepared for the phase of evolution that our sector – as well as the whole industry – is going through. For us, internal skills are essential and for this reason we are intensifying the collaboration with training initiatives such as that of Steelmaster”, said Arturo Ferrucci, Human Resources Director of Acciaierie d'Italia.
