ACCIAIERIE D’ITALIA WITH INAIL PUGLIA

FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK

Taranto, 30th May 2022 – Acciaierie d’Italia and INAIL Puglia Department, have signed today two collaboration agreements to develop training and information initiatives on health and safety at work.

In particular, the first agreement provides for the design and activation of training courses for internal employees of Acciaierie d'Italia, as well as for employees of the contracting companies of the Taranto plant. The entire training course will cover a period of twelve months and will involve technical staff and company managers.

The training courses will be initially divided into seven different modules: the course for Prevention and Protection Service Staff, specific training for managers and five further courses dedicated to "Pressure equipment", with a general part, a course dedicated to air and nitrogen and the other courses dedicated to cryogenic systems, hydraulic power units and steam systems.

INAIL will prepare the contents of the training course and will arrange for the planning and realization of the relative didactic material, also ensuring teaching staff at the highest levels of quality and experience. At the end of each edition, tests will be carried out to ascertain the acquisition by the participants of the required skills.

The second Agreement signed provides for the creation of "INFORMO", an information campaign to be carried out through the use of interactive technological devices located at the main access gates of the Taranto production site and intended for all those who access it.

“This agreement with a partner of absolute reliability and competence such as INAIL witnesses our constant attention both to training and - in particular - to aspects concerning health and safety at work”, declared the Human Resources Director of Acciaierie d'Italia Arturo Ferrucci. “A further value of our initiative is the involvement of contractors’ workers, who we consider to all effects as part of our industrial ecosystem”.

“With the signing of these two agreements - says Giuseppe Gigante, Regional Director of Inail Puglia - we are starting an important partnership for our regional territory, with the hope of encouraging, through training and information on safety and prevention issues in the workplace, safe behaviors that reduce the risk of accidents to a minimum, if not zero, in a complex situation like that of the largest steel plant in Europe”.
