Taranto, 19th May 2022 – With reference to today's press release from the Peacelink association, Acciaierie D'Italia specifies that from the data in its possession to date, made available by Arpa Puglia, there are no anomalous trends for the benzo(a)pyrene parameter at the control units of the air quality network in the city of Taranto, compared to the current limit which, as known, is on an annual basis.
The Company confirms that the four batteries in operation today are fully adequate to the requirements of the Environmental Plan in force and that their operation is taking place in full compliance with the emission limits of the law.
With the data made available so far to Acciaierie d'Italia by ARPA Puglia, it is possible to verify that the average annual concentrations are lower than the target value set by the standard, equal to 1 ng/m3. In detail, the 2021 annual average concentration is equal to 0.21 ng/m3 for the control unit in via Machiavelli (which ARPA takes as a reference for the entire industrial area of Taranto, therefore not only with the contribution of the steel plant, but also of other industrial plants) and equal to 0.32 ng/m3 for the Deledda control unit.
