ADI in E.A.: one billion euro investment in maintenance. Confirmation of the timetable for the restart of two blast furnaces

11/02/2026

Taranto, February 11, 2026The industrial plan of Acciaierie d'Italia in Extraordinary Administration for the main plants at the Taranto site continues according to schedule.

As for the blast furnaces, Blast Furnace 2 has completed testing, heating, and filling, with restart scheduled in the coming days. This will be followed by scheduled maintenance on Blast Furnace 4, aimed at replacing the plates, which will begin on February 28 and is expected to last approximately 60 days. Within this timeframe, the coking plants (BAT) will also be restarted, with the return to operation of batteries 7, 8, and 12, which are currently shut down for maintenance work on the catalyst.

The conclusion of these operations will enable the plant to return to a production capacity of 4 million tons of steel per year by the end of April 2026, together with the restart of the coking plants.

Since February 2024, over €997 million has been allocated to maintenance and industrial investments, confirming the Extraordinary Administration's commitment to ensuring the full functionality of the plants.

Furthermore, during 2025, the Taranto industrial site recorded the highest number of hours worked in recent years, both by direct personnel and third-party companies.

These measures confirm ADI in E.A.'s commitment to making the Taranto site efficient and operational, through production continuity and structural investments, with a view to finalizing the ongoing tender procedures.
