Milan, 18th January 2023 – Acciaierie d'Italia has been certified for corporate social responsibility in accordance with the international standard SA8000:2014. The standard establishes the requirements for a Management System for the control of social risks and health and safety aspects in the workplace, both within the company and in the supply chain.
The certifying body RINA, accredited by SAAS (Social Accountability Accreditation Services), has issued the certification for all the production plants - Taranto, Genoa, Novi Ligure, Paderno Dugnano, Legnaro and Racconigi - and for the headquarters in Milan.
The achievement of this goal, which joins numerous other certifications obtained by the company in various fields and available on the website at https://www.acciaierieditalia.com/it/certificazioni/certificazioni-qualita-prodotto/ is a concrete expression of Acciaierie d'Italia's will to pay maximum attention not only to the variables that enhance the product on a technical-quality and economic level, but also to the social impact of the activities carried out.
One of the core principles of the SA 8000 standard is the engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including workers through active and joint participation with management. For this reason, a "Social Performance Team" was set up which includes a balanced representation of both categories.
The SA (Social Accountability) 8000 Standard was issued by the American organization SAI (Social Accountability International) and is based on national legislation, the Conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
