Taranto, 31st January 2023 – Acciaieria d’Italia informs that today Arpa Puglia and SPESAL Asl of Taranto visited the Plant of Taranto to check the use of plastic materials into the blast furnaces.
Acciaierie d’Italia illustrated that a test was made in July 2022, coordinated with the Environment Minister, who was physically present on site at the moment of the technical assessment of injection of polymers, “end of waste”, from the tuyeres of the BF4. This project is part of the road map towards decarbonization and circular economy development, traced by the steel plant, which will allow the reduction of CO2 emissions in a year.
A regular submission procedure to request all necessary authorizations to the competent bodies is now under way in order to obtain the industrialization of the related production process.
