Taranto, 4th December 2023 - Acciaierie d'Italia and Avantgarde, an Apulian excellence in the technological requalification of railway locomotives, signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of a conversion project with hydrogen or hybrid traction systems of the diesel endothermic engines, currently in use for the internal railway transport of Acciaierie d'Italia plants. The program is part of the decarbonisation plan of the Taranto steel plant with a view to energy conversion towards the use of green hydrogen.
