Taranto, 15th May 2022 – In relation to the operational status announced today by Peyrani Sud company, Acciaierie d'Italia announces that the serious accidents recently occurred in activities carried out by Peyrani Sud forced ADI to evaluate with caution the extension of the related contract, expiring in June 2022.
In fact, Peyrani Sud recorded two fatal accidents - even if not in activities carried out on behalf of Acciaierie d'Italia - and, lastly, a very serious fire in one of the cranes in service for Acciaierie d'Italia on the 4th pier which put at risk the safety of all operators and caused significant economic damage, well above the value of the services provided in favor of ADI.
Acciaierie d'Italia noted the announcement by Peyrani Sud of its illegitimate decision to interrupt the service and will act in the appropriate places to protect its interests.
