Taranto, 7th November 2023 – Acciaierie d’Italia informs that this morning, during torpedo car train movement from the blast furnace area towards the steel mill of the Taranto Plant, probably due to a wrong manoeuvre, the last car derailed and separated from the front trolley. There was no spillage of hot metal which stayed entirely inside the car. The event did not involve any operator. Currently investigations are being carried out on the proper application of procedures. The railway operation continues regularly on the parallel track, without stops. The repair of the track involved in the event is ongoing and is expected to be completed by tomorrow.
