Genova, July 2nd 2020 - Only three months - March, April, May - to study and start, together with logistic partners with a strong intermodal vocation, the latest generation commercial trains for the transport of coils from the Genoa steel plant.
The first train left on 21 May with a load of 1,400 tons, on a transport capacity of 2 thousand gross tons. After two other "test" departures directed to the Padua freight village - on May 28 and June 4 - the loads are leaving regularly every week. The hypothesis of adding the Lombardy destination to the Veneto with the Desio and Rezzato terminals is already being studied. The idea is to connect one more Region every month, so that by next November the project can be completed and 74% of the shipping volumes of the Genoa plant are migrated.
Modernize and redesign the rules of distribution on the national territory through modern, efficient and high quality logistic models: this is the goal of a project that, strongly desired by the top management and the new management, also winks at the customer to offer a new door-to-door commercial service; to the environment, choosing a type of transport that drastically reduces the CO2 released into the atmosphere and technological innovation.
